Nurse Educator
General
Accountability: The
Nurse Educator reports to the Education Coordinator
Nature and
Scope: The Nurse
Educator will:
o
Teach students in
public school settings medically-accurate information on topics
including the physical changes of adolescence, reproductive anatomy,
sexually transmitted diseases, fetal development, and child birth,
utilizing curricula and materials approved by WTW
o
Help recruit and train
medical volunteers
o
Supervise medical
volunteers in classroom teaching
o
Help conduct yearly
evaluation of medical volunteers
o
Act as on-site school
liaison between WTW and school teachers, report any issues observed
o
Help with and present
at parent and community meetings and special events as needed
o
Contribute story ideas
for quarterly newsletter
Qualifications: Licensed Vocational Nurse,
Registered Nurse, or higher
Experience:
Medical practice background needed, teaching or
obstetrics/gynecology experience helpful, experience with teens
helpful
Skills: Good written and verbal
skills
Qualities: Honest, trustworthy, reliable,
dedicated to the concept of abstinence until marriage, self-directed
and motivated, professional appearance, able to work independently.
Hours:
M-F during school calendar year;
summers off
Payscale:
$20/hr
