WHO WE ARE

Worth the Wait (WTW), a nonprofit, educational organization, was formed in Pampa, Texas, in 1997 to address teen sexual activity as a public health issue. WTW has served as the organizational catalyst in bringing together community-wide efforts to promote abstinence education. Establishing early teen sexual involvement as a youth risk behavior and public health concern has enabled WTW to enlist medical professionals, social workers, teachers, and professional youth workers to present medically accurate information to students, parents, and the community at large. Thus, WTW advocates a teamwork approach that emphasizes the idea of informed teen decision making in the avoidance of all high-risk behaviors.

Particular attention is focused on equipping teens to say "yes" to healthy relationships and "no" to sexual involvement, thus helping teens achieve their fullest potential.
