DID YOU KNOW ...

  • Teen pregnancy is the No. 1 reason teenage girls go to the hospital.

  • Sex education has to start young and be constant. Just one speech or one course will not suffice.

  • 7th through 9th graders who participate in Abstinence Education two out of the three years, are most likely to wait until marriage or until adulthood to have sex.

  • Less than 50 percent of U.S. teens have had sex, though by high school graduation, approximately 60 percent will engage in sex.

  • 15-20 percent of students in each grade (7-12) remain abstinent for religious and moral reasons that do not swerve.

  • The 9th grade is found to be a crucial year for girls because they start car dating.

  • The 10th grade is found to be a critical year for boys because they have the cars!
