DO YOU PLEDGE?
Students have to write things down all the time, like notes for upcoming tests and notes to friends. But very FEW teens write things down…just to write them down. Things that are really important, like goals and hopes and dreams.
Hey, studies show that if one actually documents a goal, he or she is much more likely to achieve it.
Congress recently spent some $25 million to collect information on risky behaviors in teens. The study was one of the largest ever on teens in America. This study, "Protecting Adolescents from Harm" (published in the Journal of the American Medical Association), determined that a key factor in delaying teen sex is a pledge of virginity.
The study says that those teenagers who signed a pledge to wait were 75% less likely to have early sex.
So we designed our pledge cards with both a card for the teen and a card of support for the parent or guardian.
